I have a reef-ready tank with a sump and a canister filter. I currently have two heaters in the sump, but was wondering if they could go inside the overflows instead. Does anyone know of any reasons why not?

as long as there is good flow across them, i don't se any reason you can't do it. if i didn't have a sump, i would use my overflowbox for heaters to hide them. but if i didn't have a sump, i probably wouldn't have an overflow box
Sure, as stated above though, just make sure you have enough flow. I have one in my 90 in our garage.
if you are using a standpipe style of overflow and there's water constantly in your overflow box even when the pumps are off then i dont see a problem with that. but if your overflow box can empty itself at any point i wouldn't advise it.
