Heating 500G

Hey all

Hoping to get some feed back on my idea, My tanks are linked together by a sump and have a total vol just above 500, the room sits at about 10-18C (50F-64F) during winter and in summer sits at a prefect temp theres no need to run heaters.

I am going to get heaters this weekend and my plan is 3x 300W jagers do you think this is enough/too much? they are rated for 1000L each which means 2 could run my whole system going off this, but I dont want the heaters running 24/7.

3x300 should work very well. i have asimilar type setup equalling about 400 gals and i use 2x300 watt in my sump and it jkeeps my tanks right on temp

sweet, do you think I can use a fluval tronic heater also? they are not as long but built just as well and half the price, or better to use the long eheims?

p.s what fish is in your picture?

I use cascade heaters and they work awesome even though smaller than the jagers and my avatar is my 8" f1 male hogaboomorum.

mmm sounds good. cant get cascades here they are 13 inch though google tells me the tronics are 16 so a bit bigger but not as large as the eheims. thing is I can get the tronics for 30$ why the jagers set me back 50$ and I find the tronics work much better and are built much better then the jagers but the jagers are rated for 220G (top of my head) where the tronics are rated for 80G id prefer spending the extra to get proper heating. But I cant see the difference apart from the size and seeing as the water moves so much I dont see the size helping? I used 1 tronic in my 150G and it worked fine so I guess it should work fine also, that extra 2-4 inch truly cant do much?
