I have raised koi in a 2000 +gal. Ride pool for several yrs, but have since moved them to a large outdoor pond. Now, I would like to change over to S.A. Cichlids. Question is, how to efficiently and economically heat it. Suggestions?

Heating the room is probably the most effective way. Solor pool heater on your roof would work too just make a shut off bypass valve in winter. It'll work on sunny days but take warmth out at night.

Thanks for replying. I considered solar heating but I'm concerned about fluctuations in temp. Has anyone used tankless water heaters to heat large pools?

I think some have used a warm water drip system. Basically, they drip warm water in with their drip system instead of cold/temp matched. This way you get the heat from the water heater and keep water quality better all at the same time.

Has anyone used an inline heater or, tankless water heater? I've been reading about both. Just not sure what size would be needed or, how efficient and expensivethey would be to run.
