Heating bowfin tank

so my bowfin is in a 55 gallon tank half full all by himself. He was eating silversides with no problems until lately. so i have been starting to heat the tank so i can move him into my other tank as well as maybe boost his metabolism. Have plenty of current in the tank and an airstone. Should i slowly heat the tank a degree a day? Whats ur opinion?

That depends on how much you plan on raising the temp...

i want to get it eventually to 75 degrees....but streadily increase it

it was unheated and now i turned the heater on to its lowest dergee a week ago. now its just shy of 70 degrees

It should be able to take a 5* temp change over the course of a day. Just raise it a bit every couple hours.
