I'm looking at building an outdoor pond. now, I know how to keep the water warm during the winter. but, my question is more about keeping it around 80 degrees or so when the pond is outside in the summer. I live in FL, and the weather gets very warm during peak of summer. is there a way to keep the pond cooled to 80, or will the fish be fine with 95-100+ degree water temps?

Provide the pond with floating plants. They will prevent the sunlight from entering and keep the water temperature down. Additionally, if the pond is an in ground one, it will be cooler than an above ground one.

Warm temps are really only a concern w/above ground ponds. Building it below grade, even partial, will help to control temp.
Floating plants and lillies will shade the surface.
Additional areation during the summer may be needed.
