I did not know if i should make a new thread for this or not but here is my question. In my 220 Gal tank i currently have a 300W and a 200W heaters cranked to max and they both sit on opposite sides of the tank under filter outflows, and i cant seem to get the temp above 77.

i currently have Ick in the tank and i am using medication ATM but iv always liked raising the temp to combat it, but this new tank just will not heat up lol so what can i do to get my heat up to 86ish ? any advice would be much appreciated !!! thanks guys!

What's the air temp in the room the tank is located in?

If room temps get down to the mid 60's or lower, you may need more wattage...or your thermostats are busted.

I don't trust the internal thermostats of aquarium heaters...they are all cheap garbage. I would get two 300 Watt E-heim Jager Heaters and run them on a Temperature Controller like the ETCI-1R- http://www.jehmco.com/html/temperature_controller.html.

yea the room the tank is in is not that well insulated unfortunately(garage converted to a room) so its prolly in the low 60s, i did not even know about temperature controllers that might have to be added to the list of things i need for the tank :headbang2hehehe.

i ordered another 300W off amazon today so hopefully i can hold off the ICk until it gets here, but unfortunately its not the nice E-heim Jager heaters just some cheapy with decent reviews, thanks for the advice aldiaz33 i appreciate it !!
im gonna also try and run the rooms heater more specially at night hopefully that will help bump the temp a few degrees aswell.
