I found this in another thread and would really like to try my hand at it but I am unsure of how to heat up large pieces. I don't have any enormous pots to boil it in. Is there a way to rig your oven up? I'd rather not have to go buy a heat gun or anything right now. Any tips?
You could hit it with a torch. I played with a couple scraps of PVC, but never made anything out of them. The torch works, but it takes a bit to get the hang of.
I've heard a heat gun will work, as well, and those are also cheap.
I've used an electric blanket that is made especially for heating PVC prior to bending. I imagine you could get it from a rental place. Made by Greenlee. Its used for bending PVC conduit. Torches and heat guns work but you can scorch or even burn the pipe and it looks like c#$p!
