Just thought I would share since I've seen a lot of posts about heating and this way has been working great for me for about 6 years now. I have been keeping 1100 gallons heated to 80 for less than $10 a month. Cost to do a setup like this is around $600.
Interesting, please tell me more. Like details of the components you used, what the parts are etc... I am getting ready to overhaul my fish room again and heating is a hot (no pun intended) topic right now.
Pump is a b&g nbf-22, pool heat exchanger was purchased from eBay for a small pool. Temp sensor for turning on and off the pump is an aqua logic nema 4x. Also need a check valve after the pump so cold water doesn't flow back.
