do you have to use a sump on anything over 100 gallon im setting up a 163 gal or 630 litre and i dont wish to use a sump to complicated instead im using 2 huge canisters, one with a uv sterilzer. all up 1400 litre aquarium filtration. and 3800 litres per hour, would that be enough or do i have to use a sump. can u grab a pvc pipe stick some ceramic balls put caps on the ends and attach it to a slow pump and have it go back to the tank?? would that work as a biological filtration??? i purchased a sunsun hw303b with built in uv sterilizer and was wondering what a dirtiness entrance is/used for?

it should work perfect just keep up on water changes

a couple big canisters will work, but don't be intimidated by a sump style filter. They're really quite simple.

its the overflow box ( i dont know what they do) and the risk of the thing siphoning in the middle of the night(black outs are regular during heat waves. plus my idiot sisters end up putting to much power on the circuit and i have to go outside and flick power back on. so yeh even though most of the fish im getting for the setup are free i dont think thats a reason to have them all die. do u need a protein skimmer in a brackish tank??
