Heckelii trailers

I have a group of 6 heckelii, largest just under 4 inches. What size do the trailers start growing out?

I didn't notice trailers until around the around the 7 inch mark when I had Heckelii.

I agree, about 7", here are some I had at that size.


Certain small tetras sometimes take issue with them, and quickly nip them off before they get a chance to grow.

Ok I have some red eye and columbian red and blue tetras with. Hopefully they won't nip at their fins

As far as my experience goes the columbian red and blues are quite trailer safe

I had a school of about 20 Red and Blue with my 4 heckelii. No problem with the trailers.

Rearranged the scape and added some almond leaves. They seem to like it.
