Ok heres the deal. I recently noticed what looked like ich spots on my silver dollars (3) in my 90 gal. They dissapeared after 2 days and have not returned. My oscar (7-9") has been acting irradic as well. my 5-7" clown knife and bristlenose pleco have acted entirely normal during all of this. I have an Emperor 400 bio-wheel filter and a Fluval 405 canister on the tank. Whats going on?

Temp? Water parameters? Tank size? How big are your fish? How often do you do water changes and what % ??

what do you mean by "irradic"? oscars are looonatics, they get spooked by stupid things, they get pissed off and sulk in the corner, or at the bottom of the tank. they attack other fish for no apparent reason and with no provocation. Oscars are the very definition of erratic when they are normal and healthy.

90 Gal tank. temp=79 deg. F i gave you fish sizes but they're 1. Oscar(6-8") 1. Clown knife 5-8" 3. silver dollars about 3 inches and 1. bristlenose pleco 3-4"

He'se normally quite active and hes not as much now. And he turns pale every now and then rather than his normal deep black color

Water changes? Nitrate level?

was the ich treated? if not, it might just be coming back, considering its lifecycle

It's drop off and incubate in the substrate for 3-5 days and you'll have a second outbreak. You'll need to treat the tank to prevent recurring outbreaks.

the color changing is normal.. don't worry about it. my red oscar used to change from a gold color (almost as light as a lemon oscar) to nearly black and back again when he was young. has nothing to do with diet, or water quality. it does have something to do with domiance, Rocky would get DARK almost completely black during feeding time or when he was exerting his influence over the other oscar (Toni) or the peacock bass (that outgrew him and taught him to respect fish that are bigger than he is).

i keep all of my tanks around 84 degrees, the fish are healthier, and they eat better.

You'll want to post disease issues in the Fish Disease and Health forum. I'll move it.
