My name's Roach, I live in VA. I've always had a fish tank in my house since before I was born. I've had a Alligator Gar for a while, but recently he sadly passed away..
I'm soon going to put two little gator gars in his ginormous tank, and maybe put them in an outdoor pond later in their life. Does anyone else keep gator gars in ponds? Is this hard to do?:nilly:
I'll put up pictures of my two wee gators when I get them on Thursday.:naughty:

R.I.P. Mr. Gar =[
Here he is with a catfish pellet as a hat. :D

Welcome to MFK! Did you post on CL? I e-mailed you to let you know there was one in VA Beach, at Animal Jungle. I guess you found some though... welcome!

I KNOW you're excited about them, LOL, so I'm not trying to be mean, but they're just not a good choice for your 30 gallon, or even the 55! I REALLY think the Floridas are a better bet, because they don't grow so large... Again, I'm just offering advice, because I want your experience (and the fishes' experience) to be the best. You'll still need to upgrade with the Floridas, but a 180 will hold them for life, or at least a really, really long time.
