Hello all,

Im new to this forum would introduce myself. My name is yongkie and i live in Gresik Indonesia. I Just started to keep some monsterfish in my house in Gresik Indonesia ( West Java ). I have 3 Giant Gouramies ( 1 grey and 2 whites ), 4 mid size black plecos, 4 catfish ( 2 black and 2 albino ), 1 local pacu which local people here call bawal fish and lots of gold snails. I keep all those fishes in my pond 4 m x 3 m and 1 m deep. Right now im getting my pond filter redone and im planning to put more fish like black pacu, jardini arowana and some more catfish like tsn and rtc.

Fishes in Indonesia are so cheap for example Jardini arowana here you can get for U$ 6 ( 10 cm in size ). Mini TSN you can get for U$ 3 ( yes thats right three dollars after counting from local currency to US dollars )

when my new filter done i will post some pics for you all.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Nice monster sized pond, must be nice to have the weather to do it! Looking forward to the pictures and again, welcome.

Thank you for warm welcome all, Indonesia have tons of species of animals ( Birds, Mamals, fishes ) Indonesia located between Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, New Guinea and Australia. Fishes in Indonesia mix between those country fish. For example some parts of Indonesia have some fishes that also live in Australia. We have tons of exotic fishes like coleanth ( Sorry i dunno how to spell it hehehe ), Orca near New Guinea ( yes thats right we do also have orcas live in Papua island close to the border between Indonesia and New Guinea ), the blue marlin and manatee ( mostly live in rivers of Borneo island ).

Im very sad that our population of animals become less and less because of illegal logging, illegal export of fishes/animals to other countries.

When i have a chance i will post pics of a traditional fish market in Surabaya ( 2nd biggest city in Indonesia after Jakarta ) where they only open 2 times a week during night time. Must be interesting for you all to see how people selling animals in Indonesia.
