Hi all i have a 65 gallon tank with figure 8 puffers and a few amazon. My question to you is i have a hair like green algy or something growing off of one of my amazon sword plants. I do not know much about plants at all but that they look cool do good things for the aquarium and fish. I have stock lighting that came with the aquarium and stock bulb as its only a few months old. I use Plant Gro NPK aquatic plant fertilizer 0.6 - 0.3 - 2.4 ( what is says on the bottle not really sure what it means though ) and a cheap C0 2 natural plant system by nutrafin and it has a bubble diffuser or something like that. How can i get rid of this stuff off of my sword and make it look nice again? Thanks for any halp...

try to manualy remove it first. i know that simease algea eaters love the stuff. i would remove the infected leaves also

I know sword plants are very algae prone. But, I guess I'll also give the party line... What are your nitrates? How long do you leave the lights on per day? When is the last time you did a water change? Just some questions that I was always asked.

i have other sword plants and they have nothing on them though just in the one corner. I have no idea what my nitrates are i cant find a kit anywhere around where i live without driving 2 hours to get one, so i have to wait to make a trip into the city. As per lights they stay on 8 hours a day they are on a timer. Water changes i do every thursday night and i do about 1/3 to 1/4 and sometimes more depending on the way the water is looking as puffers can be a bit messy at times. All of the other plants in there are fine its just one of my swords and i have tryed to peel it off but its really growing on the plants leaves, i am going to try cutting the leaves that have it off and see i never thought to do that honestly am quite new at the planted thing...Thank you for the help so far though has been very helpfull.

I assume Drs. Foster and Smith(Google it) can ship you a kit into Canada. Most of the time they're cheap. You may want to find other things to buy from them so your set shipping charges will make it worth your while. Good luck.
