RVA
Howdy everyone, My name's Lohr and I'm new to the boards, of course I guess the fact that I'm posting in the introduction part kinda gives that away. I live in RVA (Richmond, Va) and currently have a planted 55 with two beautiful Oscars, i know everyone's fish are the best looking, but these two are amazing. I have been outta the hobby for about 4 years, the last time i was into it, was with a 55 and two other Oscars, if anyone here is from Richmond you will remember the big hurricane in Aug 04. we were without power for 11 days and even with water changes our Oscars passed.

I bough a tank again of craigslist, my wife couldn't understand why i was so excited about it, of course now she is into as bad as me, we spend more time now watching the fish swim as we do at the TV or 360. I grew up with tanks, my dad was a hobbyist in the 80's running 4 40 gallon tanks, i had hours of my young life melt away watching coolie loaches.(which i cant seem to find anywhere) My whole life i have been a freshwater guy but now the draw of reef tanks has me by the toe.

I know the best places for info is always the forums and i love the hobby in general, i have checked a few communities out and this one seems by far the best (sorry other guys) and i plan on being very active, plus being new to salt will probably have many questions. On that note, I know knowledge is power and the best thing i can do to start a good tank is setup a good tank. Does anyone have a good book they can steer me in the direction of for total salt water info, I'm sure there is a book out there everyone considers "the salt water bible" I'm just not sure which one.

So there is the short story, I'm really looking forward to talking to everyone.

Lohr
