Hello - I was referred to this site by fellow Aquarists. I have had aquariums my whole life but have been out of them for quite some time. I just moved into a new house that had an aquarium built into the wall. I think it is 135 gallons. It was set up for saltwater but I have cleaned it out and am getting ready for fresh water.
I am going with a sand bottom. I bought 100lbs of play sand and cleaned it like 100 times plus emptied the tank out twice after I filled it due to cloudiness. After the last total water change, my new Fluval FX5 was able to make the water crystal clear in just a few hours and now it looks great. I need to get recent pics.
My plan was for a Spongebob them and I already got all the Spongebob ornaments. My kids love the show. I also got lots of fake plants but really want real plants. I need to read up on keeping them alive before I dive into that though.
