I don't have any monster fish, just a 29 gallon tank that is currently cycling. However, I've always LOVED huge fish and plan on buying a 100+ gallon when my fiance and I move out of our condo into a house. It's always been my dream to have a tank with huge fish someday, but it's not realistic for me right now. I do love checking out the threads here, reading about your experiences and seeing all the setups, so I just figured I'd register for the hell of it. The more research I do, the better my future tank will be. Just wanted to say I've seen some amazing things here that you guys are doing, it's crazy.

Definitely freshwater. I was thinking of doing an awesome oscar tank. I also love catfish and arowana, I'm not decided on anything yet since it's going to be at least a year down the line before I can get a big tank.
But I probably won't get an arowana, don't they need 300+ gals? I'm not sure I want something that big.

hes a territorial killer, mine has killed several fish too big to eat and if he can eat it, he will
but if youre getting a tank that large you should be ok if he has the cover and everything he likes
beware advise from anyone who doesnt acknowledge they are killers
but they are very cool and get to be very big at 20 inches, mine is about 8, was 2.5 inches a year ago when i got him
