Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Rick and I am from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and this is my first post. I have only been caring for fish for about a year now, started with a 20gal and when I saw it amaze my grandson it just kept growing. My pride and joy is Garth, an Aligator Gar that is about 26" now and absolutely gorgeous; he has a friend stay with him, Wayne, a Florida Gar who is about 12". They also share a tank with a breeding pair of Jaguar Chiclids that are around 10".
Currently sitting with 8 tanks running but I am moving this summer so I will be downsizing in numbers but upsizing in gallons. I am looking at building a large 3,000 - 4,000 gallon tank that will be big enough for Garth to be comfortable for a few years as his growth has now slowed down to 2-3 inches a year. Once I decide this fall, I will post construction and design here for all to see, I will probably need your expert feedback through the process.
I look forward to all the future posts and forums here, this place is awesome to say the least.
