Hello all! I've been lurking in the forums for quite a while now (found the website at work, and was instantly hooked). I have been wanting to setup a tank, and work my way to larger tanks since.

First, thanks to all contributors! All the reading that I have been doing over the past couple months has helped me to prepare and decide what I want to do with my entry into the fish keeping "hobby" (that is not an insult to those who consider it a job ;)). This community has provided me with valuable information, and hands on insight (and all kinds of entertainment!).

I have recently setup a 90g tank, w/ custom made stand/canopy (made by my roomate) and am stocking it with "Oddballs" (fell in love with bichirs the moment I saw them). Right now it is currently housing 3 Senegal Bichirs, 1 Ropefish, 1 BGK, 1 Striped Peacock Eel, 1 Striped Raphael Catfish, and 1 Spotted Raphael Catfish (and 1 Dwarf African Frog that was meant to be a treat, but keeps finding himself in the overflow box for the wet/dry :screwy:) I plan to add some African Butterfly Fish, a Long Finned Bristlenose Pleco, another Upper Jaw Bichir or two, and some Syno's in the future.

I was fortunate enough to start off the hobby very inexpensively. The 90g was free, the wet/dry was free (lfs gave it to me because it had a hole in the bottom, MFK member bukster, whom I've known before getting into fish, helped me to seal the hole), overflow box/pump, and penguin 350 were all bought used at awesome prices. I have a feeling it's not going to be cheap from here on out though, as I would like to eventually setup an indoor pond (for catfish), and maybe 1 or 2 larger tanks (1 larger for a Fahaka Puffer, and another for larger Bichirs).

I'll have pics up soon of my setup and of the residents in the appropriate forums as soon as I can take some good ones.

welcome! its like crack. after that first tank you cant stop...
