I live in a North Dallas suburb Plano, where I have a koi tank(pressure treated lumber lined with a pond liner) for winter heat storage. Situated above the pond in one corner is a 20 gallon Hex tank that I keep fancy goldfish. The tow tanks are over filtered and hydraulically connected so the goldfish are crowded and still doing well, There is more description of the set up and materials on my profile. I've used this project to investigate the appropriateness of a number of techniques and materials for the Koi and goldfish, mostly trying to find cheap and easy substitutions for various things, so I'll have lots to report on what has worked and how and why I did the things I did. I'm an engineer by original training, so I take a very scientific and nerdy approach to this stuff.
