hello everyone my 1st FH

Hello to each and everyone on this forum, im from the north suburbs of chicago and got my 1st FH 4" for about a week now, I need your expert opinion on the sex and type of FH it is. I was told that its a male. After looking at the galleries I dont know if he's a keeper but I spend a lot of time starring at this fish LOL! His color also changes from pale red to almost red all over and sometimes with black lines, maybe it's my eyes . What do you think about my 1st FH, for sure it wont be my last coz I think i got the FH bug very bad! LOL! OMG I need another aquarium.

thank you, i will be happy even if it only develops a decent size kok. Im not sure if thats a normal size kok for a 4" size FH, it looks small to me. Maybe more members can give me an idea. Thanks

Hey there!!!!! and welcome to MFK~~~That looks like a male to me but he does not have that big of a kok....That doesn't mean you cant build it up!!!!! I spent alot of money on buying a 3 inch flowerhorn with a nice size kok....If you want me to show you i will...But if you can bump it up then go ahead!!!!

I'm saying it's a male cause it looks like mine. I'm new to FH and jus got mine recently also. yours is identical to mine for sure. it's still young but from i was told and see out of your also is there's plenty of KOK potential. pretty looking male ZZ

the male is a little beat up because he wanted some loving and broke through the divider and got too much lovin from the female. this was about a week ago and he's back to full color and pearls along with the healed tail.
