2 yellow labs
1 electric blue
1 johanni
1 hongi

Sounds like a nice set up. The blue dolphin might get a little large (10 inches) For that tank size. But it will be a colourful tank.

agreed even though there large it will work with the fish though there not that bad with agression but will need a larger tank when it matures that is one of my favorites Hongis are cool too

@ 50 gal might want to for go the jacobfiebergi as well they can get large for a peacock and quite aggressive towards other aulonocara, IMO 1 aulonocara per 50 gal of water

List sounds good, but may need to rethink the peacocks.

ok this is the lis i have now
3 yellow labs
2 electric blues
2 johanis
2 hongis
1 ob peacock
all water qualitys are good tank has been cycling for 2 weeks now and its temp is
26 degrees i was justw ondering what are some good plants for these cichlids

No live plants ! Cichlids luv to uproot and destroy them. use a few artificial if you want some greenery. They will start to shread them as well . But at least they won't die on ya. Dont pay more than a few dollars each for them either.

Africans luv their vegataion and it is quite healthy for them. Some aquatic plants are cheap and help cultivate healthy algaes for the africans to eat.One I use quite frequently is large Onion grass.......africans don't like the taste of the plant and won't mess with it to much but after a few weeks in the tank you'll find your africans feeding off the growth on the leaves.............another is brazillian swords the africans will eat the leaves however the plant reproduces leaves very quickly and provides the same organisms growing on it's leaves. Both of these plants have no problem living in the higher ph range so long as it's stable and niether of the two require high amounts of CO2. They also help to reduce organic waste, help remove heavy metals from the water, and expel oxygen into the water - inessence a biological filtration system.
