Northern Michigan
I live in Northern Michigan, and I have had many, many tanks over the years. Since getting married I am bound to one tank, no size limit just a "no more then one" rule.

My last tank had 7 Ctenopoma Acutirostre, 4 Anostomus anostomus, 5 pink tailed chelcius, 2 polypterus senegalus, and 1 Ctenopoma oxyrinchus. The tank was taken down when I moved to Michigan.

I currenty have a 220 with 44 Brilliant Rasbora (RASBORA BORAPETENSIS), java fern, & java moss. I am experimenting with 2" of oak leaves for substrate over 5 different size aggregate. I am into the natural look. My goal is a Southeast Asian Biotope. In regards to the fish, I am looking for something special, size is not the end all for me. I lean strongly to the uncommon with a bit of difficulty. In the new set up I am not going to mix species from different continents.

I joined the forum in hopes of not learning from the nearly infinite experience of fellow aquarists but also some ideas for something different.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hiya PaulOsborne, welcome to MFK!
Hmmm, 1 nice sized tank, what is the foot print?
Southeast asian and unusual, Not the datniodes, bala, and clown loach mix then. How about 6"-10" fish with a small eel or two as well? Planted tank? I will have to think about it.
Off hand maybe stream catfish, oddball bards, a mix of loaches, a couple raiamas types, and a couple worm eels.

have u had any luck getting ur brilliants to breed?

welcome to mfk btw.

Hmmm, you have many many options....you could have a lotta fun!!! Big tank means lots of fish possibilities. Gouramis are always an option, croakin, chocolate, and a couple of the dwarfs come quickly to mind. Not many people get them to breed now a days cuz mostly the males are imported. Every now and then you get females. if your tankz wasn't planted, or wasn't heavily planted, i would say go with Bagarius bagarius.....:D...the Devil cat! :D

Welcome, theres a lot of possibilites for your tank.
