Hello all. I am new to this forum. I stumbled upon an interesting fish today and when I tried to research it, my research led me to this forum. I am located in central Florida and I located what appears to be a gar that is bright orange in color. Are these common in central florida? I had never heard of one until today.

Leucistic gar? What size tank you have? If you have the space, you should definitely buy it if you're into gar.

No, this fish is wild. I know where he is located in a very small body of water. I have a picture but it is from a distance.

Well, depending on legality, that fish is worth a LOT of money.

I'd need to see a picture. It could be a xanthic morph, though they are more gold than orange. It could just be a normal florida gar, as they can be surprisingly colorful, but it usually fades. Pictures are needed and then I can help.

not the best pic, but maybe it can give u an idea of the color. It is about 20 inches in length and there are many black colored gar in the same body of water.

welcome :D
