Hi! Just thought I'd get myself started here... I have a 12" supposedly tiger (but more like red with little black leopard print and a green face) Astronotus ocellatus who is about 4 years old who we call Gator, she's the only really big fish we have right now and she'll be moving up from a 55 to a 75 within a few months. We also have a tiny baby elec. blue Cichlasoma octofasciatum and a Polypterus palmas juvenile living together in a 45 for the time being until I decide where I want to go with them. I got started with fish keeping when I fell in love with a little gray oscar at :( walmart :( years ago and plopped him in a 5 gallon tank with an albino clawed frog. Within a week "Murphy" moved into a 20 gallon until I could get home (I was in college at the time living in a dorm room) for a break and pick up a bigger tank with christmas and birthday money. I was the only person on my campus who made a successful campaign with housing to keep a 55 in the dorm! I have since tried to be happy with community fish (always keeping an oscar around for the puppylike amusment they bring me :D ) but it never sticks so I'm joining up and hoping to learn about some other big fish that interest me so when I get my 150 towards the end of the year I'll be well educated on what to put into it! I can't wait!

You're in trouble. I started out a lot like you and now I'm the crazy nutcase fish guy that people talk about when I'm not around.

I blame MFK and love ever second of it:D
