I have been a lurker for awhile decided to say hello today... I am hoping to find some fellow hobbiests here in the UAE. I recently moved here from Florida and need to start building up my collection again. I kept African cichlids for the most part but I am thinking of doing some new world this time around as well. It's been great reading the thoughts and opinions of everyone on this site. I especially like the pics of some the fish you guys keep. Very nice.:drool:

Thanks everyone. Oscars are easy to find here as are blood parrots (in many colors. Kind of disgusting) Arowana and Ghost knifes I have run across as well. I have talked to some shop keepers about getting the fish I want. If they can get them they will most likely be coming from asia. We will see what happens.

I started an album of the fish in the shops here. I will post the link. Blood parrots are everywhere and they come in many colors.( I will with hold my opinion on this) Oscars are plentiful in the stores as well. I have only seen a few that I would consider nicely colored but I haven'tkept oscars so my opinion might be off a bit. Angels and discus are in most of the shops I have been too. Other fish that seem to be easy to find are Catfish, Arowana, ornamental types(guppies and such), Koi, I have seen pacu and a few Ghost knifes as well some flowerhorns. African cichlids I have found a few yellow labs, leleupi, auratus and some unidentifiable mbuna. Hope that helps.
