Hello my name is Rachel, I received a flyer for this forum at a local IBC/FOTAS show I was attending. I breed and show betta, but I joined to get more information about my new polypterus edlicheri endlicheri. I bought him because I was looking for a good fish to eat the betta I don't sell due to mutations and birth defects. I set him up in a 30 gallon tank for now, once he grows out, I will put him in a larger tank. I bought him from Aquatek in Austin and the guy who sold him to me told me he is not the normal coloration for his species. Can anyone confirm this for me? So far I am very pleased with the fish, he is great at his job, and is by far the most interesting fish I have ever owned. I also wanted to know what the proper feeding regiment for him would be, and if live fish is healthy enough for him or if I am going to need to supplement with something else. All of my fry are fed a high quality diet so they should be very nutritious.
