In a van down by the river
Hi everyone, new here.

I don't have monster fish but I will in the future. Planning to build a large tank/pond type setup in my basement. this year. Should be a fun project.

I currently have two tanks, a 47 gallon column tank which is tied into a 130 gallon tank. I use an old 55 gallon sump that I built myself with pond pumps to return water back to the two tanks.

I also use marineland emporer 400 HOB filters just for that extra filtration that keeps me comfortable. I believe in over filtration even though I keep up with my water changes. I find that the combination of the HOB with the overflows feeding the sump keeps my tanks in tip top shape.

I have no interest in salt water at this time but have not completely dismissed it. I just find that I am very happy with the variety of freshwater species out there.

I keep several types of crayfish along with african cichlids and synodontis catfish. I will post a few pics in my intro thread below.

welcome. i am from McDonough, GA i just joined myself. i like the forum so far. are you apart of the atlantaaquarium forum?

Not part of Atlantaaquarium yet but will register.

I am just right across the river from you in Conyers. Take 20 to 212 and hang a left towards the monastery and my neighborhood is on the right before you get to Oglesby bridge road. Across 212 from Deer run. Been here since 98.

I'll be snooping around the river bottoms this spring in search of some nice crayfish. I'm about to set up some tanks with cells to keep several kinds and try to breed them.
