Hello all! Not new to fish by any means had a 90 gallon coral salt tank, have a pond with koi and all diy filtration, planted discus tank, and a 120 peacock setup. Recently got an amazing deal on a 265 which is full and running looking rather empty at the moment. I have plans to go with one of the bluer varieties of frontosa, albino tiger Oscar, couple electric blue Dempsey’s, teacup ray and not to sure(up for suggestions) on a few more. I’m running a reef ready tank with a 40 gallon sump full of bio balls setup as a drip system, and a canister filter with built in uv light. My base is all sand about 2” deep. Always ready to learn whatever I can from those with more experience and this will be my first monster setup. Just need to track down some quality fish and large pieces of driftwood now!

As a personal preference I wouldn't mix frontosa with American Cichlids. I would say Central American cichlids would be the best choice since you already have an open water African setup and a discus tank. What is the current stock? Another thing be careful when purchasing a "teacup" ray as many species are sold under this name and are anything but small. Do you have any pictures of your setups? Sounds like you have some nice aquariums time to show them off :)

So my 120 split from age I’m guessing which was why I was in the market for a new tank. It was my cichlid tank, had a pair of breeding jewels that did really well in it also. The cichlids are in the 260 right now till I can decide whether I’m gonna replace or repair attempt(lol) the 120! But for now the 260 has no permanent residents. I’m not opposed to doing a large group of strictly Zaire frontosa in the 260 though. Want a monster tank but I’m unsure how to approach it honestly. Since I’m in no hurry I thought Input from some more knowledgeable people would be a good idea! Need to tile the floor and refinish all the baseboard and drywall that got damaged when the 120 dumped so I have a few weeks to decide. I had oscars and a Dempsey pair a few years back but the 260 is so large I’d like to have a variety but stay with fish that won’t outgrow the tank!
