How is everyone doing?? I am doing well, currently working on a new build. I figured that it was time to join a forum dedicated to larger aquariums so that maybe i could get some advice and help in terms of stocking, filtration and other things... I do have experience in fresh and marine tanks. My current setup is a 120 (48x24x24 in) drilled reef tank housing 2, 10 inch oscars, 1, 6 in dempsy, 1, parrot, lapouranous (spelling??) about 12 in long, and a Severum. yes i know they are cramped a bit which brings me to why i joined this lovely site. I purchased a beautiful 265 gallon (84x24x30 in) and i am currently building a master bedroom around it. once i get the opportunity to get the pictures of the build off my phone i will definitely upload pictures of the old setup ( will be for sale ) as well as my progress of the new tank. any insite or comments are greatly appreciated!!

Ok I'll start with the old setup here a decent picture and I'll go through the filtration system. It's a AGA drilled and my sump is a eshopps sock 2 square style socks, mag 9.5 return pump titanium 500 watt heater, for chemical filtration I'm using the phosoban reactors filled with carbon. Here's a picture of my kids admiring the tank because they love my fish.

Here's a picture of the new tank. Got drift wood from the local lake and tomorrow I'll be getting my large rock situated, hopefully I'll have it set up in 2 weeks. Wife is being understanding because it's in the master bedroom but it's a slow process. If anyone has some tips on a diy sump please contact me!!

Just run a pond pump thru a container, and let the water overflow back into the tank, use your choice of medium.
