I am new to this network and so happy to have found you. I accidently became a monster fish keeper but love it! 8 years ago I bought my son 2 cute little Iridescent Catfish, I was told they would only get up to 12 inches fins and all...WRONG! so I continue to buy tanks and am up to a 150, looking for a bigger one. I find you today while googling for help. I went on vacation and had an "adult" watching my Iridescent catfish, well one of them died and they didn't take it out, There was a power outage, I had emergency air, but something still happened, but not telling me and than just leaving it in the tank is just wrong on so many levels... Anyway, So I came home to a cloudy tank with a big rotting dead fish and a very sick big catfish. As a newbie I don't want to get scolded for posting a sick fish in the wrong place...so I will go to that place and put the information that is requested in help, I looked at the med list and it is overwhelming. I am just so upset and want to use the right and most effective meds and hopefully save my boy...I know it sounds weird but I love my gentle giants and hate the thought of him being so sick and losing him. I consider myself a responsible pet owner but am feeling not so much that way, since I am not prepared in knowledge to move forward in a more confident way. I look forward to becoming part of this group so I can grow in knowledge and help promote responsible monster fishkeeping.
