I live in Knoxville Tn. I have been keeping central and south americans cichlids for off and on about 20 years. I currently have a 75 gallon tank occupied by a 14 inch Jaguar hybrid. He lives alone because he is so aggressive. His favorite game seems to be taking off the filter tubes and biting my hand when I put them back. Any ideas on how to keep the filter tubes attached? He also tries to bite his heater. "Jag" is my big boy with an attitude, but thats what I like about him. I also in the past have had a dovii, and a red bay snook. I love the big monster species.

I'm looking forward to talking to other people who appreciate the challenge of keeping these larger fish. It would be nice to find people who live in my area. I will try to upload some pictures when I get a chance.

Welcome . Best I can think of is maybe a cover for the filter and heater so he cant get to em or maybe try some dithers for him to focus his aggression. Maybe try lowering your water temp 5°.

welcome to mfk, Nice to meet you !

Hello; Welcome to the forum. I live about fifty five miles from Knoxville near Cumberland Gap TN. While I have not kept big fish in a while, I have had a few in the past.

I don't have as many tanks as I'd like. Don't really have time to mess with too many of them. I would like to move my jaguar next year into a 125. I use 2 emporer 400 filters already. That should be a good start for a 125.

I hadn't thought of a cover for the filters. Might have to rig something up. Also considering using silicone to glue the tubes in place permanently.

Is there anyone else out there from Tn? I would like to see if anyone from my area is on here.

ask this question in the lounge ..you will get more feedback..
