Hey guys and gals! I have been a lurker for awhile and decided to finally join the forum.
I haves learned a ton from this forum and hope I can share my experiences with others.
I have kept many different species over the years fresh water community ,Cichlids (wild caught and local bred varieties) Bettas, guppies, etc.
I have always wanted a Fahaka puffer, put in the research, always had a large enough tank for him/her if I could ever get my hands on one..
Rewind two weeks, on a cold snowy day here in the mitten state I decide to go to my lfs just to get out of the house, start browsing the tanks, all the usual suspects.
I make it to the last row next to the feeders and there it is!!!!!!
I could not believe it! A 10-11” Fahaka puffer. Well we all know how that goes, when we find a fish we’ve looked for and wanted for awhile it always makes it back home.
The shop keeper and I settle on a price and we are on our way home.
Cool story on Phil, that’s his name from the previous owner,he came from a older gentleman, locally who had him since he was about 2” the previous owner had him for six years but could no longer care for him.
He now resides in a 180 by himself, eating well and a personality that is just unbelievable. Super cool fish and I am lucky to have found him and give him a forever home.
Sorry if to long of a welcome,I am long winded!
Eric
