Hi All -
I joined a while ago to get some information on my fish. My bf brought home a little fish from Walmart for his little girl's 10 gallon tank. Well it out grew the tank super quick and I thought maybe it was an oscar. We spent $700 on a very fancy 55 gallon tank that matched our furniture and it became his new home. Then my bf brought home a tin foil and both fish continued to grow. Its only been about 3 months and the what we thought was an oscar is about to outgrow this tank.
After taking pictures and going to a aquarium store, the owner told me it was a pacu and so my research began.
I've rescued animals my entire life, mostly dogs and cats but I did hand feed two baby squirrels successfully into adults. I don't want to be a bad fish mommy so we are quickly planning our next tank. I have a pretty big house and my bf is a carpenter so we are going to do our best to raise these fish properly.
Any advice would be great appreciated!
