Hello, hola, chao, mahalo everyone,

i am a newbie and want to raise Discus 'cause my wife and i can't find any other fish attract to us. So we decided to purchase 100G fish tank and replace it with the entertainment center in living room (i'll post pic as soon as possible). We set it up and let it run more than a week now(about 10 days) and we just put some Discus in about 2 days. but found out i did not do my homework how to cycle new tank before bought Discus. that makes me a Monster totally match my user name.

Wish me luck,

Hello and good luck with that. Discus are a challenge to raise and keep.

Welcome! I used to keep discus, they're pretty sensitive not an expert but someone told me long time ago to just have the rounded crushed coral as a substrate , good filtration, salt , uv sterilizer and you're good to go.. Not one died on me at all until I sold them all to my neighbors.. Lol! Goodluck!

Thank you everyone. It's a very warm welcome. one of the member (Soulpatch) is very nice and patience helping me right now to go thru the new tank cycle with fish in it and save those discus. I'll post picture of my tank as soon as possible.

here are my discus and trying to save them from new tank cycle. i'll take picture of whole tank and stand later. I converted stand into 2 compartments, 1 for entertainment system and other for filter and supplies.
