hey all

Just found this site due to a link posted on another site. i have been having a heck of a time taking pictures of the reef with a new camera so i plan to be asking alot of questions and doing a lot of reading.

i have been keeping salt water reef aquariums for around 10+ years. i love taking pictures of the corals. I have been using a mid grade point and shoot canon S2. Nothing fancy but it had super macro modes and IMO did a GREAT job at taking some very nice macro shots. evceryone has always thought i had a high end camera. even people that have top shelf cameras.

well i wanted to step things up a bit and purchased a canon 40D with a canon 100mm Macro lens. well ever since then i can't take pictures of the tank at all without them looking like crap.
everything else i do i can take the best pictures i have ever taken and i am in love with this camera. the only problem is tank pictures

i KNOW this is a user malfunction since this camera should be able to stomp all over the old one. i have tried setting after setting and cant get things right. i will be posting a few pics later tongiht in the other section to ask for help

I look forward to speaking with you all and becoming a part of this community.
