Hello all! I've been lurking for a few months and just thought it was time to join the conversation. I'm a new hobbyist having acquired a 125 gallon fresh water tank a few months back. It currently has 2 HOB filters which I hope to upgrade as soon as funds become available. In the tank there's a 10-12" Oscar, a 6-8" Jack Dempsey, a Jaguar at about 6-7", a Pleco, and an unknown catfish (possibly a Black Bullhead). I became the caretaker of the tank and decided to just go ahead and buy it from the owner who had lost interest.
I live very close to the Gulf so I have an unlimited supply of small seashells. If these are washed properly, would they make suitable gravel? Any other members in the Sarasota/Venice area?
