My name is daniel. I have kept fish off and on for about 30 of the last 45 yrs. A couple of years ago I got a 125 gallon and stocked a pleco (poop machine) a tiger oscar and a clown knife. pretty soon the oscar was about 12 -14 inches and quite magnificent. But he wanted to kill the knife so I had to give him up. The knife was gorgeous, she was around 24 inches. Last week I got my first really bitter lesson in mfk - I didn't have the top glass weighted and may have left an opening after feeding. In any case the knife jumped through an opening 1 inch wide, or created it on her way out. Found her dead on the carpet. Really sad - one of the most beautiful and graceful fish I've ever seen.
Now I'm interested in other ancient freshwater fish. Have my eye on a lungfish - gold with arker speckles about 12 inches. I assume he is alf. Does that sound right?
Anyway. All for now. Daniel
