I need some help from you learned fish people to reduce the amount of maintanence of this mini monster tank im building soon{must do research first so i dont stuff things up}The left side is 700mmx500x500,the right side is 1800mmx500x500 plus the corner bit.The whole tank is just over 700 litres{sorry for metric measurements}the end of the long section will have a built in overflow down to a good size sump.Im thinking of a double wall for the overflow so it can suck mainly from the bottom.Where i need help is,do i run a reverse flow under gravel filter or would an under gravel jet system be better{never had one so dont know benefits}.The left side will have river pebbles siliconed to the floor with gravel between them so i can have a decent chunk of wood in there and not have to worry about moving it to vac under it.I also plan to have some sort of jet or spray bar spraying under the wood ,the rest of the tank will be normal gravel and planted.I will probably be running two pumps from the sump so will have plenty of options.Another scenario is wood in corner with same floor under it.Sorry for such long winded first post all suggestions or critique is welcome.Phil.
p.s disregard tiger mouth trouble uploading tank{had to take a bloody pic of computer screen to accept tank drawing}

y bother with under gravel systems? use a canister or wet/cry much easier and if you have got a good amount of circulation(powerheads, filter returns) then u dont need to gravel vac much.

For the american conversion this will be a 28" x 20" x 20" on the short end 71" x 20" x 20" on the long end and 1/4 of a 40" x 20" cylinder So total gallons about 190.

Big tank but convetional filters will work fine. A wet/dry sump would be best, though a couple of canister could work too.
