Hello,

After lurking for a few months on here its finally time to introduce my self and ask a question :nilly:

My name is Lou, I live in miami and I have two tanks. One is a ten gallon with a dwarf puffer (a couple ghost shrimp and two guppies to fill up space), and a 29 gallon with a Senegal Bichir and a Tire Track Eel.

Yes I know I need a bigger tank, I googled after I bought the fish. Im currently looking for a nice big used tank or maybe making one.

Now here is my question:

When I got my bichir he was a little under 3" (now 7") at a Walmart where no one knew what he was. (Got him for $2 :D ) Ever since then Ive wanted to get another one of a different type, but could never find one. Until now...

As with the first I have no idea what he is and I'm hoping you guys can help.

He looks EXACTLY like a senegal bichir of the same size (2.5" to 3") except for:
1. slightly more defined "round head"
2. Much bigger eyes (as big or bigger than the 7 inch bichir)
3. No little antenas on his nose like any other bichir.

Is it possible he is a senegal bichir and just born lookin' funny?

Here are pics.

Its deff a senegal bichir. But, that senegal is awesome, those eyes on him are the funniest thing ive ever seen  ! I wonder if the eyes will grow along with the rest of his body...

remember that guy on american idol with the big eyes?
that is the bastard child of him and a senegal bicher.

he looks a little skinny by the way
all in all that is on funny lookin animal

Thanks for the replies guys!

And yes the poor thing is supper skinny (got him today).. But he will soon be spoiled like my other bichir having a full menue of earth worms, blood worms, guppies, rossy reds, danos, and ghost shrimp. Well when hes big enough... Shrimp pellets, and blood worms for now...

Which by the way... since every one seems to agree he is just a funny looking senegal... Does the fact that he does not have the two front antena things pose a problem? For catching food and what not...

he should be fine
