I am new to forum. As well as a pet store. I'm not asking to advertise. Don't wish to anyway as I won't be doing any online sales. But what I am wondering is how stores are viewed here? I've done all kinds of animals for decades. From neons to horses... While I know lot of animals I do not specialise in any :) love them all lol

So wanted to get more experienced input into different animals and care for them. I want to have as good to the animals shop as can. Want to make money of course but I am also focused on the animals health.

Main questions are retail stocking levels. As well as retail filter/pump set ups.

Centralised air sponge systems are used for smaller tanks and internal power filters for larger tanks

I am already looking into Hitachi slomge filters :) bit for the 40 on up tanks wasn't sure...

Sorry was late at night and was tired so didnt word correctly. Also last few forums didnt tale kindly to pet stores so didnt think to search first. Wanted test waters first.

As for tank have bunch of 20long, 30 breeder tank. Then dozen 40, 50 and 75 gallon tanks. Have sponges for 20 and 30. But wasnt sure if would be enough for the larger ones . Buying ton of large filters costly so wanted see if any alternatives that worked.

It may be costly to set up to start with but I think each larger tank having its own filter would be the best way to go. Lot less chance of disease and parasites spreading from tank to tank as compared to a central system, which may be cheaper to set up but it may cost you in other ways in the long run.

Running all through one airpump doest spread disease?

My LFS uses internal power filters for the larger tanks. They aren't particularly stocked either in those tanks

Not referring to air I was referring to a centralized water filtration system. For the larger tanks.

A central air system is definitely the way to go with the smaller tanks.

Ah. Central sumps are useless

Well in a store setting they are less than ideal. If it were a home system and stricken quarantine procedures were observed it could work.
