My name is Shane and I am new to the forum. I have had many fresh water tanks growing up but nothing too big.
I am interested in learning more about this hobby as I am in the process of building a new home and want a large aquarium in my basement. I thought this forum looked pretty promising and well... here I am.

I found a DIY 1700 gallon aquarium on here, but I think I may go the route of just adding it to my basement foundation and having it made of concrete. I can just have them pour it while they pour everything else, this way I am guaranteed no leaks. Does anyone see anything wrong with this thought process?

I understand if we were to move it would have to stay, but our intent is to grow old in this home.

Thanks,

Shane

I forgot to mention that I understand that it will take a lot more than just pouring concrete, such as sealing it and so on. I would just like to know is anyone has any better recommendations or if this is a good idea.

Thanks for the support, link, and information.

I just figured I may as well install it all now as I can put in an exhaust fan and everything at this point with no haggling later on.
