I am from the Uk. Both my friend and I have decided that we would like to have a nice aquarium. I have decided to have a coldwater tank which I bought second hand yesterday. 1st problem when I put it in the bath to clean it I filled it up nearly to the top with water and noticed to my horror that there was water coming out from a small hole in a side panel. It is a hexagonal shaped tank. I think I can buy silicone sealant but wondered if anyone on this site knew how to apply it. Should the sealant be put on inside and outside of the tank? I take it all sealants for fish tanks will be non-toxic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am going to my local fish supplier this evening to buy some sealant and other bits and pieces. I have never had fish befoe. Thanks.

Welcome! I have never had to repair an aquarium so I am no help there.

welcome to mfk you will need to remove the old silicone before you apply the new silicone and yes aquarium silicone is non toxic but you need to let it cure good luck and welcome to this addicting hobby
