Hello,

I'm new to this. My mom got me a small turtle. It is almost 2 inches big. Everyday I change the water. I have been using spring water because I was told that tap water from the faucet is not good for the turtle. Can you give me advice. It is becoming costly to by spring water. Also, a neighbor told me I eventually I'll need a fish tank. Right now the turtle is in a container. Any suggestions would be helpful.
:)

Hi! Welcome to MFK!

The tap water is just fine for your turtle. Buy a dechlorinator such as Prime and use it according to the directions on the bottle to remove chlorine and chloramine from your tap water, though. You'll see that as you are doing larger and larger water changes, this will save a lot of money!

I too agree that a Rubbermaid stock pond is going to be your best bet here. Do you have the proper lighting for the turtle, as well? Here are a couple of links on turtle care if you'd like to read them (they may answer questions you hadn't even thought of yet!)... I'm not sure what sort of turtle he is, but a lot of these water turtles' needs are fairly similar, so these links will serve as a good set of guidelines:
