Hey MFK,

Finally got around to joining your site. I hail from SE Michigan and have a new 210 gallon tank after moving my 16" silver aro from its former 75 gallon home.

Right now I have my fingers crossed because I introduced a 9-10" Jaguar into the 210. So far the jag is herding the aro occasionally (their second day together), but no teethmarks. Half the sites I checked say jags and arrows are great tank mates and the other half say its impossible.

Of course I'm hoping it works out great. But just because internet forums attract opinions, let's start a betting pool, maybe?

welcome to mfk.. looking forward to seeing your 210 and arow... i would worry more about the jag spooking the arowana.. please keep heavy weight on top of tank.. arows are jumpers.. looking forward to pics...

Thanks, Red. The jag didn't work out; he was getting ready to go after an eyeball. Luckily the LFS and I knew this might happen so we swapped for a tiger oscar and a store credit. A 6" oscar and an adolescent aro seems to be working.

I look forward to sharing pics, but I've just started the tank two weeks ago. Nothing exotic; plain old, stock FX5 with pool filter sand and gravel on the bottom. Figuring out the rest as I go along.

sounds good. glad everything is working out.. and most of all ..glad your here to share it all..

Welcome to MFK!

Thanks everyone. Now this is for the Oscar enthusiasts...it was easy putting in one Oscar but is adding in two more 6-10" ones ok?
Not easy.. even oscars that grow up together suddenly can rival each other once they are sexually mature.. or for other reasons.. and when they fight they seem to do it constantly.. my opinion.. keep just one.. or try one more and be ready to separate if needed...

Thx, RD. I found another and decided to give it a watchful try. So far so good. So now I am up to one silver aro, two oscars and a bala. I know the bala needs company, but it's harder to find larger ones. Now I gotta chill until the bio filter catches up to the fish.
