Hey MFK! A breif intro, Ive got a 35 gallon community startup going for my neice and nephew. Its got 2 red dwarf platys, 5 harloquin raspboras, 2 guppys, and 13 zebra danios. Its a tank i maintain for my 3 and 5 year old sisters kids. the danios are currently aiding in the cycling of my new today 72x18x24. Ive got a rena filstar xp 4 cannister with 4 differnent types of media, and an aqua clear HOB 110 3 stage bio max. been running about 8 hours, and the water looks pretty clear. I used a bacteria starter and dechlorintor with a 4 layer stress coat application. looks good so far. I signed up here at MFK for informational purposes and of course to show off my monster fish when ive grown them.

I wanted 3 oscars and a pleco, however im reluctant due to the oscars size. So basically im looking for a monster fish or school that eat like oscars, meaning anything including smaller fish, and will stay under 8 inches or smaller. i guess like cichlids but not chichlids..lol i would kind of like to find something with vibrant colours and am okay with a species tank. Would kind of like an idea of what other kinds of fish are out there, and where to look for information without manullay reading 200 pages on google? I would like to get to the point where i can breed maybe convicts, or smaller live bearers, that i can treat my monsters with. breeding being the only safe and disease free way of live feeding sessions, ontop of my staple. ive done alot of research on tank set up but never really thought about other fish being so sure that i would get oscars. Fish that stalk their prey would be fun at feeding times, and major box store only offer the standard vareity of box store fish. any help would be great. Of where to look, local burlington area stores where i can talk to fishstores that offer specialty predators.

thanks for reading and i hope to talk with some of you soon.

welcome to mfk.. nice to meet you and glad your apart of this great forum of fishkeepers... you will learn and have fun too.. just ask and your questions will be answered... enjoy the forum and all the things it has to offer... no where else on the net will you find such entertainment and photos of such a great collection of fish and others... i would take my time and study and ask questions before you plan on a purchase.. this way you will know ahead of time everything there is to know.. opportunity knocks.. so you won't make any mistakes and have to pay for them later.

Hey, im kinda lost in this forum world and have no idea how to function the page. Ive since transformed my 125 to a beautiful tank filled with 3 green terros and a movie like story to go along with it. I need help on how to ask questions, and post my own threads and pix to show off my tank. ive invested alot of time researching and spending money to acheive maximum filtrations and cant wait to share my specs, and get feed back on what else i should be doing. please help me.

Hello and welcome to MFK!

thanks for the welcomes. Ive been browsing around, this is the first forum ive ever joined, but thought it would be neat to see other ppls investment tanks and show off mine in the process. Its tough going go far to find my way around, im hoping you ppl will help me out. Id like to create or make a cuda page in order to post my tanks and their stats with photos.
