I’m a long time lurker, first time member. I started with cichlids about 15 years ago, sold it, got into saltwater (holy expensive hobby from hell), changed careers, had to sell all and move back to Florida. Then about 3 years ago I decided I wanted to get back into keeping fish. Started with a planted tank and small fish, happened upon a African spotted leaf fish, he grew and ate all the small fish. Put him in a 55, added a brown knifefish, kind of going for a central African themed tank. Then the gf thought it would be a good idea to buy an arowana as a Christmas gift. It was only 3 inches at the time. Put it in the 55 which it quickly out grew. Then into a 75, and 7 months later it’s about 14 or 15 inches and eats everything. I just recently acquired 2 juvenile peacock bass, both about 2 1/2”. Pretty excited about the addition of the bass. Looking forward to all the information.

Welcome.

Welcome aboard!:)

If you don't know this the Silver Aro and Peacock Bass will require an aquarium over 300 gallons or larger for life. Most importantly the aquarium should be atleast have a width of 3ft so Aro could turn comfortably.

Welcome to MFK N Nick_13 ! Like tlindsey tlindsey said the aro and bass require large tanks but you’re in the right place for all of that

Thank you all for the welcome. Yeah, the gf asked “whats the next tank size is going to be” after I said the Aro was getting too big for the 75, my reply was oh, I dunno maybe a 210 and that still won’t be the end. Haha. She didn’t open the can of worms, she bought the can for me.
