I am setting up my 250g tank and recently got a deal on some pool filter sand. i have never used this type of sand, its the Silica type sand. its brand new in the bag never opened, do i still need to wash it ? if so how do you suggest i do that?

If u don't wash it, soon Ull have a "why is my tank cloudy" thread lol and u don't want that....
Keep the water flowing till it runs clear. And don't dump the bag directly in, ive learned if u scoop it with a cup and carefully place the cup on the bottom and dump out it won't stir up and will be crystal in an hour. Plastic cup!
