Got to this site via wernersponds - great site there, and I liked his thoughts on the pot scrubber filter media - and looking for that here.

I have two koi ponds, total surface area about 250 square feet, average depth about 4 feet.

Lots of koi - some 18-20 inches.

Got ducks, now, also. Not sure they're a good mix in the pond, but my wife loves them both. Any tips on managing the combo??

Thanks!

lol iv always wanted to write that!!!

welcome to mfk.
this is what i heard: ducks shouldnt b on ponds as the amount of waste they create makes the ammonia too much for the fish.
i only heard that briefly the other night. they did go in to alot more detail but as i dont keep a pond i wasnt payin full attention.
thing that gets me is, well where else are ducks sposed to live?

Welcome to MFK!

welcome mike i am a new mewmber too i used to have a 1acre pond and breed call ducks it was great i now have a 14,000 gal koi pond but no ducks but if i did i would have call ducks cause they are very small and stay small less waste and i know u would need a bottom drain in the pond so u can drain it often and be able to get all the junk off the bottom easy and quickl should be fine just dont go crazy and get more then 2-4
