Hello, this is Mike 350. I have an outdoor pond that started small and is now 3500 gallons total. Last year my wife would not let me leave the fish outside. We live in Prince George, BC and we experience lots of snow and very cold conditions, so, I built a 75 gallon glass aquarium. This year, she bought another 13 fish for a total of 26. This year, the fish have grown alot and the 75 gallon aquarium is not big enough. We have 4 koi and they just keep growing, the rest are goldfish. I found this site this weekend while I was researching what to do. I needed something big. This site is awesome. My indoor pond is 8'6" x 4' x 3'. I experienced bowing on the 8' lengths so promptly drained it. I added extra bracing and 2x4's along the length of the pond and still have some bowing. I found my design on this site and the design I based this on is much larger. I am wondering if everyone who builds indoor ponds out of wood this size, experiences the same thing. Is bowing normal?
PS It is now full - 700 gallons - but still concerned about the bowing and breakage. any suggestions?
Thanks, Mike350
